National Conference on Gender & Inclusion: a focus on Muslim Women’ at MANUU

The Centre for Women Studies (CWS) of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in collaboration with Centre for Development Policy and Practice (CDPP) Hyderabad is organizing a National Conference on “Gender and Inclusion: a focus on Muslim Women” from June 6 to 8, 2022 at Saiyid Hamid Central Library Auditorium, MANUU.

 

According to Prof. Shahida, Director, CWS, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU will chair the panel discussion scheduled to be held on June 8, 2.00 pm and Prof. Amitabh Kundu, distinguished fellow, Research & Information System (RIS) for developing countries will speak on the topic  “Inclusion in Labor Market”. Mr. P C Mohanan, Former Member, National Statistical Commission and Prof. Abdul Shaban, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) are the panelists.

 

Prof. Shahida will deliver address on “Gender Studies: The way forward” and Nahia Hussain, Vice President (Public Policy), CDPP will speak on “Gender in the Development Agenda” in the opening session of the conference on June 6, 10.00 am.  In the first panel discussion, Ms. Ghazala Wahab, Author and Executive Editor, FORCE will deliver keynote address on “Born a Muslim Woman” whereas Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Dean, School of Arts & Social Sciences, MANUU will deliver address on “Multi Disciplinary Approach to Research on Social Issues”. Prof. Amir Ullah Khan, Research Director, CDPP is the moderator.

 

Various distinguished personalities and academicians are the panelist and moderators for the other panel discussions scheduled to be held during the conference. Papers will also be presented on the second day of the conference. A special session on “Working with Muslim Women: A Civil Society Perspective” will be held at Lamaakan, Banjara Hills on June 7 at 6.00 pm.
