The Department promotes Hindi language and literature in the non-Hindi speaking areas. The Department’s focus is on interdisciplinary approaches of studies and research in Hindi, Urdu, Dakhini Languages and culture. The Department offers Bridge Course for Madarsa students; courses for UG programs; M.A., Ph.D. and a part-time Diploma program. The thrust areas of research in the Department are Feminist Literature, Dalit Literature, Medieval Poetry, Modern Literature Comparative Literature, Translation, Kathasahitya, Drama, Adivasi, Muslim Discourse and Modern Theater.
