MANUU hosts DOBARA– A Day of Connection and Compassion”

The Department of English at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today organized a community outreach programme “MANUU Ke Saath DOBARA” in collaboration with an NGO "DOBARA". The event brings together senior citizens from the DOBARA organization for a day of care, engagement, and compassion at campus. DOBARA is a senior well-being network based in Hyderabad focusing on social, mental, physical support for all aspects of ageing.

 The event commenced at the Bio-Diversity Park, where around 60 senior guests from Dobara graced the occasion. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan; Registrar, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed and founder of Dobara organization, Mrs. Mateen Ansari, addressed the gathering, marked by melodious singing performances by the students of MANUU. Outreach senior guests donated and planted rose saplings in the Park, symbolizing care, growth, and intergenerational harmony. A free health camp for the guests was organized by the University Health Centre for all the visiting senior citizens visiting MANUU.

 The Cultural Club of MANUU also hosted lively performances, creating moments of joy and connection. The event was a reflection of MANUU’s commitment to empathy, inclusion, and community engagement.
