Maintaining high quality in the preparation of textbooks is very important.The responsibility of preparing higher education textbooks assigned to Maulana Azad National Urdu University under the Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti (BBS) is being fulfilled well. These views were expressed by Prof. B.J. Rao, Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad, today at the valedictory session of a two-day workshop for Urdu Authors. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU presided over.
Speaking as the chief guest Prof. B.J. Rao, advised the authors to write books worthy of reading.
Prof. N. Nagaraju, Vice-Chancellor, EFLU, in his address termed MANUU's initiative regarding BBS as exemplary. We need to establish a connection between all Indian languages so that brotherhood flourishes among us, he added.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan who is also the Nodal Officer of BBS Urdu, advised the participants to take all precautions and maintain the quality while preparing books.He said that we should create a congenial environment for academic exchange.The Indian knowledge system is a blend of modernity and tradition.
Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar informed that the UGC is being continuously apprised of the progress made in the preparation of Urdu textbooks under BBS.
Earlier, Prof. Khalid Mubashir Zafar, Director, Directorate of Translation, Translation Studies, Lexicography and Publication (DTTLP) and BBS Urdu Coordinator, presented the report of the workshop.
Prof. Shugufta Shaheen pointed out that MANUU is trying to fill up the vacuum created due to the end of the Urdu medium of education from Osmania University.
Experts covered topics such as curriculum and outcome-based Urdu textbook development, standards of instructional writing and authorial integrity, digital tools, AI and technology of instructional writing, research transformation in instructional and reference books, and terminology and standardization in Urdu in four different technical sessions held during the workshop.
