MANUU Vice Chancellor and Registrar Visited Darbhanga Campus

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), began a two-day official visit to the MANUU Darbhanga campus on March 12-13, 2026. He was accompanied by Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, MANUU. A high-level administrative team also joined them. This team included Prof. Abdul Wahid, Dean of the School of Technology. Prof. Mohd. Shahid, Dean of Academics and Coordinator of the Darbhanga campus, was also present. They were joined by the engineering section team, consisting of Dr. Iqbal Khan and Mr. Abdul Hafeez.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan expressed appreciation for realizing several developmental goals at the campus over the past year. He announced the upcoming construction of a multipurpose auditorium to enhance infrastructure. The University will also explore the possibility of starting B.Tech. programmes in future.This will happen after the course begins at the main campus. He encouraged faculty members to contribute more to academic work. He also motivated students to learn continuously in positive mode.

The Registrar, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed shared his feelings about visiting the Darbhanga campus for the first time and called it a vibrant campus with great potential. He assured that infrastructure is improving and the administration is working progressively. He noted that Darbhanga is always the first choice for top-ranking entrance exam students. He called the region a major source of students for MANUU.He expressed his gratitude to the Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Bihar, for providing two hostels at the Darbhanga Campus.

Prof. Faiz Ahmad, Principal, CTE Darbhanga delivered the welcome speech. He expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for providing essential facilities and for starting BA and LLMcourses at the campus. NCTE has approved ITEP courses for Teacher Education from 2026-27 session at Darbhanga campus, he informed.

Two books were formally released during the program. Dr. Aftab Alam, Assistant Professor authored a book “Contemporary Issues and Emerging Needs in Education”, Dr. Raghib Baber authored a book, “Pedagogy of Mathematics”. Following this, MANUU Model School students presented a tribute to the Vice Chancellor and Registrar.

An Iftar party took place on campus in the evening followed by a Mushaira (poetry session). Many poets from Darbhanga participated in the event. The Vice Chancellor also recited his own poetry during the session. Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament Mr. Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi and former Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly Mr. Faraz Fatmi also participated in the program. Mr. Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi highly appreciated the Vice-Chancellor’s positive efforts and developmental work for the Darbhanga Campus.

The Vice Chancellor and the Registrar also interacted with faculty members and non-teaching staff of the University, Principals and Heads of Departments working at Darbhanga campus on the second day. He also interacted with the Provost, Hostel Wardens, Proctorial team and the Assistant Dean of Students’ Welfare.
