AI Filmmaking Workshop Inaugurated at MANUU

A two-day workshop on AI Filmmaking was inaugurated today by Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). The workshop being organized by Instructional Media Centre (IMC) marks an important step towards integrating emerging technologies with media education. Mr. Hemanth Kumar S.P. was the guest expert.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor in his presidential address, highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in creative industries and emphasized the need for students and media professionals to adapt to new digital tools for storytelling and filmmaking.
Mr. Rizwan Ahmad, Director, IMC, welcomed the gathering and underlined the objectives of the workshop. He stated that the programme aims to familiarize participants with AI-driven tools and techniques that are reshaping the filmmaking and visual media landscape.
Dr. Md. Imtiyaz Alam, Junior Research Officer conducted the proceedings whereas Engineer Shakeel Ahmad introduced the guest expert. Mr. Omar Azmi, Producer proposed vote of thanks.
The workshop witnessed the participation of faculty members and students along with media professionals from across the city, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary interest in AI-based creative practices.
MANUU Alumni Secures 3 Cr. Fellowship

Althaf Husaine, an Alumni of the Department of Management and Commerce at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), has secured a fully funded PhD fellowship at William & Mary, USA.
According to Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Department Head,Husaine, from the 2022–24 M.Com batch, was awarded the prestigious Walter J. Zable Graduate Fellowship, valued at approximately Rs. 3 crore. He will pursue doctoral research in Economic Anthropology at the historic institution, which stands as the second-oldest university in the United States.
University officials noted that Husaine’s transition from a commerce background to a specialized social science field at a top-tier global institution marks a significant milestone for the department.
