 National Workshop ‘16s Metagenomic Analysis’ held at MANUU

 

Hyderabad:

The Botany Section of the School of Sciences at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized a two days National Workshop "16s Metagenomic Analysis" on. The event brought together scholars and experts to discuss the future of bioinformatics and high-impact research. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor presided over the inaugural held on January 28, 2026. Madavan Vasudevan, Founder & CEO was the chief guest.

 

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan remarked that while MANUU is an Urdu University, its research and academic events are strictly aligned with current global trends. He stated that the university is committed to catering to corporate HR demands and welcomed students from across the country to pursue degrees and internships at the campus.

 

Madavan Vasudevan, Founder & CEO of Theomics International Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru, emphasized the importance of basic science departments like Botany venturing into advanced fields like Metagenomics. He noted that a strong foundation in basic sciences combined with advanced technical skills creates a powerful platform for student success.

 

Prof. Salman Ahmad Khan, Dean, School of Sciences also spoke on the occasion. Prof. S. Maqbool Ahmed, Head of the Botany Section, welcomed the guests. He noted that students from various institutes are actively utilizing the internship facilities in the Botany section. Notably, the department is currently hosting interns from Savitribai Phule Pune University, demonstrating its national appeal.

 

Dr. Maruthi K.R., the workshop convener, stated that the voluminous nature of metagenomics data has created a massive market demand for skilled experts. Dr. Mohd Danish proposed a vote of thanks.

 

Certificates were distributed among participants during the valedictory session.
