Indian to play Global Leadership in law Education: R. Venkataramani Attorney General of India

India is going to play global leadership role in terms of legal education. These views were expressed by the Attorney General of India, Shri R. Venkataramani. He was addressing the inaugural function of the Moot Court at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Law School today. According to the Attorney General, experts from all over the world are concerned about the failure of institutions providing legal education. In America and Europe, intellectuals are talking about the failure of legal education institutions there. But Indian legal education system is doing good and is going to play global leadership role in the field of legal education.

Attorney General Shri R. Venkataramani said that law education in Urdu will lead to increase in cultural wealth of India. According to him, law schools are actually laboratories of law. Urdu language can be a valuable asset for MANUU Law School students, which will gives them a unique opportunity. Attorney General of India R.Venkataramani inaugurated the Moot Court of MANUU Law School and thanked Maulana Azad National Urdu University for naming the MANUU Moot Court after his name. At the beginning of the programme, Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan said this day will be remembered in the history of Urdu University for two reasons. Firstly, the opening of Law School in Maulana Azad National Urdu University and secondly, the presence of the Attorney General of India in MANUU Law school. According to him, various people have contributed directly and indirectly for the establishment of Law School in Maulana Azad National Urdu University. The result of their joint efforts is in front of everyone today.

Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor CNLU, Patna and Adjunct Professor of MANUU Law School, also addressed. He said that Maulana Azad National Urdu University should be given constitutional status and protection and should be recognized as an institution of national importance. Professor Faizan Mustafa appealed to the Attorney General of India to approve a project for the Law School of Maulana Azad National Urdu University to translate three new laws into Urdu. He assured to work on this translation project himself.

Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University Shri Mumtaz Ali welcomed the establishment of MANUU Law School and assured that he will always strive for the all-round development of Maulana Azad National Urdu University. He emphasized the importance of justice for humanity. He said that in Surah Al-Fatihah, Allah has called Himself the Lord of the Judgment Day. This shows the importance of justice. He said that every lawyer, judge and others related to the profession of justice should keep this in mind. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar proposed vote of thanks. Prof. Tabrez Ahmed, Dean, Law School conducted the proceedings.
