

MANUU VC inaugurates Biodiversity pond and Modern medical facilities

"Health care and environmental protection together create a healthy environment". These views were expressed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan. He was addressing a ceremony held yesterday after the inauguration of the Biodiversity Pond on the campus of Maulana Azad National Urdu University. He said that the rapid decline in groundwater levels and the increase in temperature being recorded in the city of Hyderabad are a matter of great concern.
As an important step to restore groundwater levels, a biodiversity pond has been launched at the MANUU campus, in which the university's used water is initially being released, and in the next phase, there are plans to collect monsoon water as well so that groundwater can be recharged before next summer, he added. Prof. Ainul Hasan also informed that solar panels will be installed and capacities will be increased at MANU Campus Hyderabad to meet the increasing demand for electricity on the campus
Mrs. Arshia Hasan, President, MAK, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Shehbaz Ahmed, Finance Officer, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, OSD, Prof. Alim Ashraf Jaisi, DSW, Prof. Razaullah Khan, Director, CDOE were present on the occasion.
Dr. Iqbal Khan, Incharge Engineering Section delivered opening remarks. Mr. Mohd Inthesarul Baqi, Assistant Engineer conducted the proceedings, and Mr. T. Santosh, Assistant Engineer presented the vote of thanks.
The Vice Chancellor also inaugurated various modern medical equipment-based facilities at the University Health Center of MANUU, including 2 bedside multi-parameter monitors, 2 ECG machines, 2 digital weighing scales, 6 BP apparatus, 6 IR thermometers, 10 stethoscopes.
Prof. Farida Siddiqui, I/c Health Centre, Dr. K. Riyaz, CMO, Dr. Syed Hammad Hashmi, MO, Dr. Humera Fatima, RMO, and other members of the Health Center were present on the occasion. According to Dr. K Riyaz the Federal Bank has donated these equipment under the Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme, which will ensure better medical facilities to the students at the Health Center.
