Radio MANUU 90.0 FM Transmission Tower Inaugurated Marks a Milestone in MANUU’s Community Outreach

In a historic milestone for Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), the Instructional Media Centre (IMC) has launched the Transmission Tower of Radio MANUU 90.0 FM at MANUU Campus.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor officially inaugurated the transmission tower and flagged off the Dry Run of Radio MANUU 90.0 FM, the university’s community radio station in the inaugural ceremony held today.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor described the launch as a historic milestone in MANUU’s journey. He emphasized that Radio MANUU would create new and meaningful connections between the university and the surrounding community. Highlighting the participatory nature of community radio, he stated that every member of the MANUU fraternity is important in the broadcast of diverse programmes and called upon all to come forward to take Radio MANUU to new heights. He further expressed hope that the initiative would strengthen MANUU’s mandate of taking education to the masses, while amplifying local voices and promoting education, culture, and social awareness.

Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, MANUU, also appreciated the collective efforts of everyone involved in making the project a success. Radio MANUU 90.0 FM would act as a strong bridge between the university and society, particularly benefiting youth, women, and marginalized communities by providing them a platform for expression and access to knowledge, he noted.

Mr. Rizwan Ahamd, Director, IMC assured that Radio MANUU would offer a wide range of informative, educational, and community-oriented programmes, aimed at empowering the community and fostering inclusive communication.

The programme was anchored by Dr. Imtiyaz Alam whereas Md. Aamir Badr conducted live interactions from the studio and presented goodwill messages and brief report on Radio MANUU. Omar Azmi proposed the vote of thanks.

With the launch of Radio MANUU 90.0 FM, University takes a giant leap towards empowering communities through education, culture, dialogue, and participatory communication, reinforcing its vision of inclusive, socially relevant, and community-responsive higher education.

The occasion was attended by senior university officials, faculty members, staff, students, and media professionals.

The programme was broadcast live on Radio MANUU 90.0 FM and streamed on YouTube, extending its reach beyond the campus.
