The NSS Cell in MANUU works to develop the overall personality of students through a series of regular activities which are undertaken both within the Campus and outside it in the form of special camps. The motto of the Cell is Not Me But You. It invites volunteers for all-round personality development through community service, group interactions, awareness generation programme, group training and leadership training programmes. The Cell has been very vibrant and active with three units of 100 volunteers each. It conducts regular weekly meeting of volunteers to discuss the plan of action. Students’ orientation to community service, blood donation camps, awareness and sensitization in and outside Campus, village adoption under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan, International Youth Exchange Programme- India-Sri Lanka and Swaksh Bharat Summer Internship are major activities in which the Cell has taken major initiatives. Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell (UBA Cell), MANUU had adopted Gram Panchayat Narsingi, which is located at a distance of 8 km (approx.) from the Main Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderbad. This Gram Panchayat comes under Rajendranagar Mandal of District Rangareddy, Telangana. Narsingi village has witnessed high degree of urbanization and the agricultural activities have just vanished, and the real estate business is at peak resulting into high disparity among the dwellers. There is a huge disparity with repsect to prosperity and deprivation among the village population. There is high struggle for livelihood and adverse effects on the education of the children. The large concentration of marginalized groups, their acute deprivation and pathetic educational scenario are key factors for the adoption of this Gram Panchayat. The Cell has been coordinating with Sarpanch, Panchayat Commitees, teachers, schools, Anganwadis for planning education, health and sanitation interventions.
MANUU also organised and commemorated events such as International Day of Non Violence, International Day of Yoga, National Voters Day, World Environment Day, Rastriya Ekta Saptah, Anti Terrorism Day, Yoga Fest, Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat Abhiyan, Swakshta Pakwada, Azadi 70, World Aids Day, World Mental Health Day etc.
