The Board of Studies (BoS), School Boards (SB) and Academic Council (AC) are the academic authorities which design and develop, approve and ratify the curricula respectively for all the programmes on offer in the University through its Departments of Studies. The BoS, SB and AC are all composed of University teachers and relevant external experts.
MANUU offers 25 PhD programmes, 21 PG programmes and 08 UG Programmes. It also offers PG diploma, diploma, polytechnic diploma, certificates and ITI certificate courses. Local and global needs derive the development of the curricula for all the programmes.
The Directorate of Distance Education of MANUU offers 06 PG and 04 UG programmes, besides diploma and certificate courses.
Each programme has learning objectives and spells out clearly Progamme Outcomes, Programme Specific Outcomes, Course Objectives and Course Outcomes. Issues related with gender, environment, human values and professional ethics are included in almost all programmes offered by departments of studies as generic elective courses. Some life skills and transferrable skills are inbuilt in the curricula and some are offered through value added courses by various departments and centres.
The feedback from the students which is sent to all the teachers of MANUU who taught any course, helps revisit and revise the course to make it relevant to the expectation of students and needs of the market. The students’ feedback remains available on the iUMS portal of every teacher so that they improve the course, if required, before placing it in BoS for approval. Additionally, MANUU also seeks teachers’ feedback, alumni feedback, parents’ feedback and employers’ feedback. It encourages all the departments of studies to take feedbacks of all the stakeholders into account while revising the curriculum of the programmes that they teach.
All programmes taught in MANUU demonstrate sound academic flexibility as they are based on Choice Based Credit System.
