Executive Summary Criterion-wise Summary on the Institution’s functioning: Criterion-IV: Infrastructure and Learning Resources

MANUU can boast about its infrastructure and learning resources as modern, smart and multifunctional. In the Headquarters it has buildings for Administration, Schools of Arts and Social Sciences, Education and Training, Commerce & Management, Mass Communication & Journalism, Languages, Linguistics and Indology, Technology (Computer Science & Technology); Centres for Information Technology, Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers, Urdu Culture Studies, Instructional Media, HKS Centre for Deccan Studies; Directorate of Distance Education, UGC-HRDC, Library, Polytechnic, ITI, four Boys Hostels, two Girls Hostels, two Guest Houses, Health Centre, five Auditoriums, an Open Air Theatre, Amphitheatre, a Multi-purpose Outdoor Sports Ground, a Multi-purpose Indoor Facility with two Gymnasiums, Office of Dean Students Welfare, Proctor’s Office, Bank, Post Office, and Residential Staff Quarters.

MANUU is fully wifi-enabled. Every department has LCD projector, public address system, computer systems, printers, photocopying machine facilities.  Every teacher is provided with a separate computer and printer.

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) has four well-equipped ICT Labs, the Department of English has a Language Lab and the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism has Graphic & Animation Lab, and Video Editing and Print Media Lab. The Instructional Media Centre (IMC) is fully equipped to produce audio/video course materials for the students of Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). IMC YouTube Channel is a repository of curriculum based audio-visual programmes.

The Library is fully automated using KOHA Open Source software. It has about 84 valuable and rare manuscripts, the earliest dates back to 967 AH/1560 AD. Most of the manuscripts, which are in Arabic, Persian and Urdu, are on the subjects like, Traditions of the Prophet of Lord Almighty Allah Muhammad (Peace be upon him and his progeny), Islamic Jurisprudence, History, Literature, etc. The Library entered into MoU with Rekhta Foundation for digitizing all its rare books free of cost. It has also obtained bibliographic records of more than 56,000 e-books from Rekhta.

MANUU Health Centre has facilities for radiology and blood test. It has five beds for temporary hospitalization. In addition to doctors and nurses, it has a psychiatrist. All the students of the University are covered under health insurance scheme.
