US Consulate Hyderabad & RELO officials meet MANUU VC

 

Hyderabad:

The US Consulate Hyderabad and Regional English Language Office (RELO), New Delhi officials today visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) and held a courtesy meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan to explore the academic and cultural collaborations.

Ms. Ruth Goode and Ms. Shweta Khanna of Regional English Language Office, New Delhi and Mr. David W Moyer, Public Affairs Officer & Mr. T. Senthil Kumar, Cultural Affairs Assistant of US Consulate, Hyderabad spoke at length about the programs offered by RELO and discussed possibilities of further collaborations.

Prof. Ainul Hasan while welcoming the initiative by US Consulate described it as a bridge between Madrasa & University education systems. He suggested E-learning programmes of US for MANUU Off-campuses.

Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Registrar Incharge provided valuable inputs. Prof. Mohammed Abdul Sami Siddiqui, Director, CPDUMT was also present. Dr. Md. Yousuf Khan, Principal, Polytechnic Hyderabad coordinated the meeting and briefed about activities conducted in the past in collaboration with the US Consulate.

 

Debate Competition on Maulana Azad at MANUU

Hyderabad:

Maulana Azad National Urdu University will be conducting online debate competition as part of Azad Day Celebrations 2021. The preliminary round of the competition was held yesterday on the topic “Social Media is a positive tool for online learning” in three languages - Urdu, Hindi and English.

The final round for Hindi and Urdu languages is scheduled to be held on 9th November 2021 on the topic “Technology has a damaging impact on the cultural ethos of a society”.

According to Prof. Mohammed Abdul Sami Siddiqui, Coordinator Competition thirty one students participated in the preliminary round. University faculty - Dr. Md Akbar and Mr. Gufran Barkati, were the judges for Urdu language, whereas Dr. B.L. Meena and Mr. Faheem Anwar judged Hindi language debate and Dr. Govindaiah G. and Dr. P. Sarath Chandra were the judges for English.

Three prizes will be awarded to the top performers in each language and e-certificates will be given to all the participants.
