
Sufis contribution in Deccan is praiseworthy - Prof. Azizuddin Raja Dhanrajgir Extension Lecture held at MANUU

Sufi teachings has a great influence over the Deccan region. This area has no place for extremism, people here are tolerant, humane and know the art of peaceful co-existence. Eminent History scholar, Prof. S M Azizuddin Husain, Former Director, Raza Library, Rampur & Former Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Head, Department of History, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi said today while delivering Raja Dhanrajgir extension lecture on the topic “The Contribution of Sufis of Deccan for the Promotion of Learning and Communal Harmony; with special reference to Persian Resources” at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Lecture was organized by Dept. of Persian, MANUU in collaboration with National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL).
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-chancellor presided over.
While continuing lecture Prof. Azizuddin said Deccan continues to be the land of equality as various monasteries are still propagating Sufism.
Prof. Ainul Hasan in his presidential remarks while analyzing the lecture said Sufis used to sit with the labourer, farmers, poor and make them feel comfortable, then start conversation. This gesture of sufis was of great significance and even today it is being practiced.
The guests of honour - Prof. Sheikh Aquil Ahmed, Director, NCPUL and Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar MANUU also spoke on the occasion.
Two books, “Kuliyat-e-Farsi Raja Chandulal Shadan” (Persian Anthology of Chandulal Shadan) edited by Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed & Prof. Shahid Naukhez Azmi and “Farsi Deewan Mulla Wajih” (Persian Anthology of Mulla Wajhi) by Prof. Shahid Naukhez Azmi were also released on the occasion.
Earlier, Dr. Syeda Asmath Jahan, Assistant Professor and the coordinator of the lecture delivered the welcome address and Prof. Shahid Naukhez Azmi, Head, Department of Persian, convened the lecture. Prof. Aziz Bano, Dean, SLL&I & the convener proposed vote of thanks. The lecture was webcast live on IMC, MANUU youtube channel.

CSTT meet at MANUU on Engineering Glossary

The Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology(CSTT), Ministry of Education (Department of Higher Education), New Delhi organized a seven day offline meeting on “Comprehensive Glossary of Engineering (English-Hindi-Telugu)” from March 9 to 15, 2022 in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT), School of Technology (SoT) of Maulana Azad National Urdu University .
Prof. S.M. Rahamatullah, Pro Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the meeting in the presence of Shri. J.S. Rawat, Asst. Scientific Officer, CSTT, MoE, Prof. SK. Isthiyaq Ahmed, Registrar, MANUU, Prof. Abdul Wahid, Dean, School of Technology and Dr. Syed Imtiyaz Hassan, Head, Department of CS & IT.
The Expert Advisory Committee of 32 Subject Experts/Linguists invited from various reputed State/Central Universities, Engineering Colleges, other academic institutions and retired outstanding academicians in the field have prepared all the targeted Telugu Equivalents words for about 14000 engineering terms through discussions during the meeting. To review these Telugu equivalents a meeting will again be organized from March 23 to 28 at MANUU.
Earlier, Dr. P.N. Shukla, Assistant director, CSTT, MoE, Shri. J.S. Rawat and Dr. Bonthu Kotaiah, Assistant Professor, Department of CS&IT, MANUU welcomed the experts in the meeting. Dr P.N. Shukla spoke about the preparation and suggestions regarding development of Comprehensive Glossary of Engineering. Dr. Bonthu Kotaiah was the Coordinator cum Subject Expert of the meeting.
