Jashn-e-Baharan Prize distribution held at MANUU
Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) held prize distribution ceremony yesterday evening for the winners of cultural, literary & sports competitions held during Jashn-e-Baharan-2022 festival. MANUU Students' Union (MSU) organized the event from June 24 to 28, 2022.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf Jaisi, Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Ghanta Ramesh, former Professor, Department of Education and Training handed over the prizes and certificates to the victorious students, coordinators and office bearers of MSU.
Prof. Ainul Hasan in his presidential address appreciated students and said they put their best effort in these competitions. He advised them to maintain competitive spirit and cherish the memories of Jashn-e-Baharan. He also congratulated students, DSW team, student’s union and all the concerned officials for organizing the event successfully.
Prof. Mohd. Abdul Sami Siddiqui, chairman, MSU Advisory Committee and Dr. Mohd Yousuf Khan, Convenor Committee, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed I. Patel, Provost, Boys Hostels and Dr. Viquar Unnisa, Provost, Girls Hostel were present on the occasion.
Ms. Ismat Fathima, Assistant Dean, DSW convened the programme and Mr. Mohd Mursaleen, President, MSU proposed vote of thanks. MSU office bearers - Md. Abu Hamza, Vice President; Mohd. Haris, Secretary; Ms. Anam Jahan, Joint Secretary and Waqar Ahmad Treasurer were also present.
MANUU holds Orientation of Madrasa Principals in Bihar under AEP
The orientation programme for around 500 Madrasas from Kishanganj and Araraia districts of Bihar was organised on July 4, 2022 at the campus of Tauheed Education Trust, Khagda Kishanganj jointly by Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi under Adolescence Education Program (AEP). The Bihar Government is implementing this project under Madrasas Strengthening Scheme of the Minority Welfare Department since year 2020 and now it reaches Seemanchal region.
Mr Muhammad Zama Khan, Minister of Minority Welfare, in the inaugural programme to mark the initiation of the project in Seemanchal region, said AEP in Madrasas is a milestone in the development of Bihar. Every Madrasa Principal will put efforts in ensuring that AEP percolates to all Madrasas students. He appreciated the efforts of MANUU in its effective implementation.
Prof. Mohd Shahid, Project Director MANUU said there is an overwhelming support from Madrasas as they themselves experienced the changing environment in madrasas. Principals are happy with the active engagement of teachers and increasing strength of students in Madrasas. Students are highly motivated with their participation in life skill transactions, conducting assembly, organizing weekly anjuman and creative expression activities. Madrasas are catering to most marginalised sections of society which is much needed for holistic development of the state, he added.
Mr Manoj Kumar, IAS Director Secondary Education, Govt. of Bihar and Chairman (I/C) Bihar State Madrasa Education Board, Mr Syed Ansari, Secretary, Bihar State Madrasa Education Board, Mr Ameer Afaq Ahmad Faizi, Joint Secretary, Minority Welfare also spoke on the occasion .
Dr Nadeem Noor, UNFPA said the project aims at making Madrasas as centres of transformative learning and it will strengthen the systems and processes in Madrasas and develop creative and critical thinking. It intent to give impetus to creative expressions and aspirations of the students.
Prof. Faiz Ahmad, Project Coordinator while assuring all possible efforts for the effective implementation of the project by MANUU informed that till date 26 Markaz (Centres) are in place and in coming months 24 Markaz shall be established in Seemanchal region.
Ms Keerti, UNFPA Bihar, District Education Officer, Kishanganj, District Minority Welfare Officer and MANUU project team were also present.
