MANUU Celebrates Independence Day

Hyderabad:

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) after unfurling the tricolour today at University campus paid tributes to the unparalleled sacrifices of our freedom fighters.

MANUU celebrated the Independence day under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 glorious years of Freedom with pomp & gaiety.

Prof. Ainul Hasan continuing his independence day message said we are celebrating the Independence today because of the sacrifices & struggles of freedom fighters. We cannot forget them. How many people were martyred, how many went to jail and shed their blood for achieving Independence, it’s difficult to know the exact numbers. The colours of our Flag are self-explanatory, one colour gives us strength, courage and motivation, the other one leads to peace and third color gives us prosperity & happiness. These three colors are also symbols of life and health.

The Vice-Chancellor also inaugurated the poster exhibition on Women Freedom Fighters organized by Department of Women Education at Centre for Urdu Culture Studies, MANUU. The exhibition will remain open for all till August 17. He also planted saplings in the campus to mark the occasion. Prof. SK. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar & Prof. SM Rahmatullah, former Pro Vice-Chancellor also planted saplings. Dr. Ameena Tahseen, Head, Department of Women Education is the convenor of the exhibition.

Prof. Ainul Hasan also distributed prizes among the winners of essay writing held on the topic “Har Ghar Tiranga : Significane and Message” and patriotic songs competitions. Abdul Qavi Adil, Md. Tafazul Alam and Ulfath Nazreen got prizes for essay writing in Urdu . Abdul Muqeet, Md. Shahnawaz Alam and Ziaullah Ansari received prizes in Hindi category whereas Fahad Khalique, Margubur Rahman and Mumtaz Ahmed were winners in English language. The Patriotic songs competition winners include Muhammed Suhail, Taskeen Fatma and Mohammad Arfeen. Abdul Karim got consolation prize. Dr. Ahmad Khan, Director, CUCS was the Convenor of Literary & Cultural competition.

Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Proctor & his team accompanied the Vice-Chancellor. Large number of faculty members, officers and other staff also attended the programme.

Students also presented patriotic songs on the occasion under the supervision of Prof. Karan Singh Utwal, Head, Dept. Of Hindi and Dr. Mohd. Muzaffar Hussain, Associate Professor, Dept. of Education & Training.

Earlier, MANUU Sub-Unit NCC cadets presented guard of honour. The cadets were carrying SLRs provided by Lieutenant Colonel Ramayya of NCC Unit. Hawaldar Chandra Mohan represented the Unit in the ceremony.

The programme was organized by the organizing committee under the supervision of the chairperson, Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan. Lieutenant Mohd. Abdul Mujeeb, Associate NCC Officer, MANUU NCC Sub Unit led the cadets. Instructional Media Centre of MANUU live streamed the programme on IMC MANUU youtube channel.
