Release of Souvenir marks Prof. S. M. Rahmatullah’s farewell at MANUU

 

Hyderabad:

Prof SM Rahmatullah (Department of Public Administration) retired from Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), on Superannuation today after rendering valuable services to the institution in various capacities during last 15 years.

 

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, released a souvenir to mark the occasion. Souvenir encomposes his achievements and milestones and also tribute by his colleagues. Prof. Hasan described Prof. Rahmatullah’s contribution to MANUU as unforgettable. Emotional attachment with the institution is natural but we should take the retirement in a positive stride, he opined. Prof. Ainul Hasan, who is also a well known poet, paid tribute to the outgoing colleague by reciting some couplets extempor to the delight of the audience.

 

The felicitation and farewell was organized by the School of Arts & Social Sciences at University guesthouse. Prof. SK. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Dean, School of Arts & Social Sciences and Prof. Shahida, Director, Centre for Women Studies shared the dais.

 

Prof. Rahmatullah in his speech thanked everyone who supported him in his academic endeavours. He specially expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar for their support and guidance. Prof. Rahmatullah who has rendered services in various capacities including officiating Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Registrar etc., attributed his successful career to the ideal upbringing by his late parents. He also recalled the support he received by the incumbent Vice-Chancellors during his career at MANUU.

Earlier, Prof. Farida Siddiqui welcomed the gathering. Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Dean, School of Education & Training read out an interesting sketch on Prof. Rahmatullah. Prof. Dnish Moin and Prof. Md. Shahid Raza also addressed the gathering.

 

Prof. Naseemuddin Farees, Prof. Mohd. Fahim Akhtar, Prof. Mohd. Shahid, Prof. P.H. Mohammad, Prof. Afroz Alam, Dr. Kaneez Zehra, Dr. Najiullah, Dr. Ameena Tahseen and large number of teaching and non-teaching staff attended.
