Iranian Ambassador visits MANUU Hails Indian Pluralism

Hyderabad:

The Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran at New Delhi, H.E. Dr. Ali Chagini visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today afternoon and held a detailed discussion with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan and top officials of the University to explore the possibilities of academic and research exchange & collaborations between the institutions of Iran and India, particularly with MANUU. Dr. Mehdi Khajeperi, Director, Noor Microfilm International Centre (NMIC), New Delhi, Dr. Ali. A. Niroomand, Regional Director for south Indian States, NMIC and Dr. Abdul Maliki accompanied the Ambassador.

Dr. Ali Chagini in his address said that image of India as a pluralistic society with peaceful coexistence is held very high in the minds and hearts of Iranian people. MANUU can play a vital role in developing bilateral relations specially in the state of Telangana. Hyderabad holds a special place in the heart of Iranian public, likewise Hyderabadis too have a liking towards Iran and its delicacies, he pointed out.

Iranian Ambassador also agreed to suggestions about academic and research exchanges & collaboration between MANUU and Iranian counterparts. He promised to take up the matter further. Dr. Ali Chagini also identified the big number of Persian language seats offered in Indian Universities which is admirable. Persian is a language of tolerance. This is the only reason for the survival of Persian language in the medieval history of India, he said.

Earlier, Prof. Ainul Hasan while welcoming the visiting dignitary expressed the hope that he will facilitate in identifying the institutions in Iran to collaborate with MANUU. He proposed an exchange programme with 5 students from MANUU to begin with.

Deans of different schools and Directors of Centres shared their views about the possible academic collaborations.  Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar proposed vote of thanks. Prof. Shahid Naukhez, Head, Department of Persian presented his books to the visiting dignitaries.

 

Staff Tournament inaugurated at MANUU

Hyderabad: 

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) inaugurated Maulana Azad Staff Tournament (MAT) 2022-23 on Monday. The Vice-Chancellor spoke about the importance of sports and fitness to make life healthier and happier. Sports activities are equally important for the teachers and non-teaching staff along with the students, he pointed out.

Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Proctor, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed I Patel, Provost Boys Hostel, Prof. Mohd Abdul Sami Siddiqui, Director, CPDUMT, Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Principal, Polytechnic Hyderabad, Dr. Zair Hussain, Controller of Examinations, Dr. A Kaleemulla, Deputy Director, DPE&S, Dr. K. M. Ziyauddin, Assistant Professor (Sociology) and Dr Janaid Ahmed, Assistant Professor (Persian) were present in the inaugural programme.

The tournament began with 100 meters running competition held in 3 categories - for the age group of upto 40 years, above 40 years and above 50 years. Shot Put, Discuss throw, Javelin, Cricket, Chess, Carrom, Badminton Table Tennis, Volleyball are also part of the competition.

The Directorate of Physical Education & Sports (DPE&S) of MANUU is organizing the tournament with the support of Indian Bank,MANUU Teachers Association, MANUU Officers Association and MANUU Employees Welfare Association.
