The Public Relations Office came into existence along with the establishment of MANUU in 1998. It was set up with the aim of propagating the vision and mission of MANUU by interacting with internal and external publics that includes media organizations and agencies and other opinion makers.
The work and responsibilities undertaken by PR Office are basically of two types i.e. Media Relations and Event Management. The PR Office has been organizing University events such as Foundation day, Republic Day, Independence day and also help in conducting Azad Day every year besides other major activities such as convocation, national level events and outreach programmes. It also helps Departments, Centres etc. in organizing seminars and conferences by providing media coverage. The office regularly writes, rewrites and edits media releases in Urdu and English for the newspapers and other media outlets for wider publicity. It also sends visual feed to various television channels of major events.
To make people aware of the functioning of the University the PR Office also helps in providing wide publicity through various modes like electronic, print media and social media besides printing and publishing MANUU Profile and New Year items. It also brings out the University magazine, Al Kalam, and circulates it among the University staff and sent to senior officials in the Ministry of Education and UGC and eminent personalities across the country. It has also brought out four special issues of Al Kalam on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in the last about four years to mark his anniversary celebrations. The special issue on NEP was also published in April 2021. PR Office also provided vital inputs and published a progress report of MANUU ‘’Marching Ahead” in the year 2019. It also provided vital information about various activities undertaken by the University to IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) for uploading on NAAC Portal.
