International Conference held at MANUU

Hyderabad:

The Department of Chemistry, School of Sciences, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized the 2nd International Conference in Chemistry (2nd ICC-2025) under the theme "Innovation in Chemical Sciences for Sustainable Development" on January 30–31, 2025. The conference was inaugurated by Padma Shri Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU. Prof. Mohammad Mobin, Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University, Srinagar was the Chief Guest.

Prof. H. Aleem Basha, Dean, School of Sciences in his addressed briefed the progress of the School and the Department of Chemistry in advancing research and academic excellence.

The event attracted 255 participants from across the globe, including delegates from different states of India, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Sudan, Qatar, China, Singapore, South Africa, Egypt, Nepal, and Bangladesh. A remarkable number of 224 research papers were presented, covering diverse sub-themes such as Organic and Medicinal Chemistry, Green and Environmental Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Carbon Dots & Nanomaterials, and Industrial Chemistry.

Prof. P. F. Rahman, former Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University, Kurnool, emphasized the importance of securing research grants and patenting innovations in the valedictory session.

The Best Poster Presentation Awards were given to Mr. Md Mohasin, Ms. Anu Radha, and Mr. JithenderRallabandi, while the Best Oral Presentation Awards were conferred upon Ms. Mohsina Ahmed, Mr. Md. Zafer Alam, and Mr. Anzar Jahan. The Young Scientist Awards were awarded to Mr. Suhail Ahmad, Ms. Sarvani Jowhar Khanam, and Ms. Saman Zehra. Certificates were also distributed on the occasion.

Mr. Anzar Jahan proposed vote of thanks in the valedictory.

Distinguished speakers & dignitaries who chaired the session included Prof. Zainab Ngaini (UNIMAS, Malaysia), Prof. Qing-Hua Xu (National University of Singapore), Prof Mohmmad Younus Wani (University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), Prof. Osman Ibrahim (King Abdual-Aziz, Saudi Arabia), Dr. Sanjay Kumar (Panjab University, Punjab, India), Dr. Mohd Ubaidullah (King Saud University, Saudi Arabia), and Prof. Ajay Kumar Mishra (University of the Western Cape, South Africa), Dr. Maqsood Ahmad Malik (Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), Dr. M. V. Narendra Kumar Talluri (Director, Knowledge Management & Tech Support, Hyderabad), Dr.Firdosa Nabi (Jamia Millia Islamia, New Dehi), Prof. Nizamul Haque Ansari (Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Punjab) among others participated in the conference. Their insightful discussions and presentations enriched the knowledge exchange and fostered international collaboration.
