The first power in MANUU’s Acts and Statutes makes research mandatory for the furtherance of MANUU’s objects, which makes every department prioritize and foster research culture in MANUU.  

MANUU has provided seed money to its teachers for research despite its limited fiscal resources. The faculty engages in publishing quality research work.

As most of MANUU teachers’ publication goes unnoticed because of the want of Urdu journals in science, engineering and technology, MANUU has been encouraging all its departments to bring out quality journals. At present MANUU publishes a journal named Adab-o-Saqafath.

During the period of assessment the faculty published books/chapters 994, articles/journals/proceedings 2323,  166 SLM

MANUU itself has conducted about 52 seminars/conferences/workshops during the period of assessment. It has entered into MoUs with 12 institutions to promote research, exchange expertise, faculty and students.

During the period of assessment, MANUU has produced127 PhDs and 247 MPhils. Considerable number of JRFs have joined MANUU during the period of assessment. It encourages all its scholars to publish the research works, participate in seminars and conferences. 

At the extension front, MANUU promotes social activities to the fullest. It has NSS and NCC Cells. It always strives to produce students who are socially conscious, and altruistically motivated. In this regard, MANUU has implemented missions such as Swach Bharat Abhiyan; Swacch Bharat - Swasth Bharat; Swatchhata Pakhwada; Unnat Bharat Abhiyan; Ek Bharat - Shreshtha Bharat; Beti Bachao - Beti Padao; Vittiya Shaksharat Abhiyan. It is also committed to Digital India project NKN - NME-ICT, which includes Campus Connect, UGC-INFLIBNET, NDL Cluster, SWAYAM, SWAYAM PRABHA, NAD, Bharatvani etc.
