National and International commemorative days, events and festivals

To maintain harmony and healthy work atmosphere and to make the learners aware of the national pride and rich cultural heritage, the National/International commemorative days are regularly being celebrated and observed in MANUU’s headquarter and off campus offices. 

  • Every year the University celebrates National Festivals i.e. Independence Day on 15th August and Republic Day on 26th January with pomp and gaiety by hoisting the national tricolour in the main Campus as well as at off campus offices. After unfurling the flag, students sing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs. On these occasions, the Vice-Chancellor also delivers Independence/Republic day messages.
  • School of Education and Training of MANUU organizesthe Teachers’Day every year on September 5 in memory of Dr. S. Radha Krishnan, former President of India. Eminent educationists and teachers are invited to deliver the Teachers’Day
  • The University organized essay writing and elocution competitions on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi. "Swachh Bharath – Swasth Bharat" a “Clean India Campaign” was organized in the campus as part of national drive on Gandhi Jayanti. University also organized Swachhta hi Seva fortnight as per guidelines issued by MHRD. In this regard, the MANUU Model School organized an awareness rally. Students presented Nukkad Natak (Street Play) ‘Kuda Mohalla’. Cultural and literary competitions were also part of the activity.
  • In the month of November every year, Azad Day and National Education Day are held to mark Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s birth anniversary. Various literary, cultural and sports competitions are held during Azad Day celebrations. Noted personalities and educationists are invited for inaugural and valedictory functions.
  • MANUU Model Schools celebrate Children’s Day as a tribute to India's First Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on November 14 every year.
  • National Unity Day/Week are observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. “Run for Unity” is organized on the occasion by NSS Cell, MANUU.
  • Al Beruni Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy of MANUU organizes lectures, panel discussions as part of B. R. Ambedkar’s Birthday Celebrations.
