Profile of ڈاکٹر افروز عالم

پروفیسر افروز عالم فی الحال مولانا آزاد نیشنل اُردو یونیورسٹی، حیدرآباد میں پروفیسر اور صدر شعبہ سیاسیات کی حیثیت سے اپنی خدمات انجام دے رہے ہیں۔ وہ مرکز برائے سماجی اخراجیت اور شمولیتی پالیسی ، مانو، حیدرآباد کے بھی انچارج ڈائرکٹر ہیں۔ انہوں نے علی گڑھ مسلم یونیورسٹی سے پی ایچ ڈی کیا ہے۔ بحیثیت ایک محقق، انہوں نے سیاسی سماجیات اور انتخابی مطالعات کے میدان میں 30 تحقیقی پرچے لکھے ہیں اور قومی و بین الاقوامی جرنلز میں ان کے 11 بک ریویو شائع ہوچکے ہیں۔ انہوں نے دو کتا بیں بھی تصنیف کی ہیں۔ In the Name of Muslims: Religion and Politics in North India  ان کی نئی کتاب ہے جو جلد ہی روٹلیج سے شائع ہوگی ۔ وہ موقراخبارات اور آن لائن پورٹلز جیسے دی ٹرائبیون، دکن کرانیکل، ایشین ایج، دی اسٹیٹسمین ، دی ٹائمز آف انڈیا، دکن ہیرالڈ، نیوانڈین ایکسپریس، تہلکہ، فرسٹ پوسٹ، دی وائر ، دی کنورزیشن ، ویوان، دی سٹیزن، کاؤنٹر کرنٹس اور ای پی ڈبلیو وغیرہ میں پابندی سے لکھتے رہتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے اتر پردیش میں سنٹر فار دی اسٹڈی آف ڈیولپنگ سوسائٹیز، نئی دہلی کے تحت منعقد کردہ کئی سروے پروگراموں کی بھی نگرانی کی ہے ۔ سابق میں وہ شعبہ سیاسیات علی گڑھ میں لکچرر کے طورپر بھی کام کرچکے ہیں۔ پروفیسر افروز کو ، پروفیسر فیضان مصطفٰی کے ساتھ شراکت میں آئی اوایس نئی دہلی کی جانب سے بہترین مضمون کے لیے بھی شاہ ولی اللہ ایوارڈ۔2005 سے نوازاجاچکا ہے ۔ مانو جوائن کرنے سے قبل پروفیسر افروز نیشنل لا یونیورسٹی اوڈیشہ کٹک میں بحیثیت اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر برائے سیاسیات اپنی خدمات انجام دے رہے تھے۔

پروفیسر افروز نے اسکول براے لبرل آرٹس، ڈائرکٹر آف سنٹر فار پبلک پالیسی اور گورننس کے صدر شعبہ اور نیشنل لا یونیورسٹی اوڈیشہ کے رجسٹرار کی حیثیت سے بھی اپنی خدمات انجام دی ہیں۔
