MANUU has a strong governance structure and management system. The vision of MANUU is ‘to provide quality higher education and research through Urdu and be recognized as the leading institution for academic excellence’. And the mission of the MANUU is to promote and develop the Urdu language, to impart education and training in vocational and technical subjects through the medium of Urdu,
MANUU prioritizes students’ needs and progress over everything. It has a very strong student support system. The Provost Offices, the Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare and the Proctor Office extend all support and provide guidance to students about hostel amenities, social services, welfare measures, and security concerns.
MANUU can boast about its infrastructure and learning resources as modern, smart and multifunctional.
Additional Information
MANUU has established few centres to implement its vision, mission and core values in addition to the department of studies and research. These centres do not offer any degree program, but help in providing value added courses and research impetus in the University. The idea is to specifically promote Urdu culture, provide training to prospective Urdu teachers, focus on women education, activities and contribution etc.
The first power in MANUU’s Acts and Statutes makes research mandatory for the furtherance of MANUU’s objects, which makes every department prioritize and foster research culture in MANUU.
MANUU has provided seed money to its teachers for research despite its limited fiscal resources. The faculty engages in publishing quality research work.
Institutional Strength
Education in Urdu from elementary to doctoral level
MANUU has been adopting modern methods of teaching by using available technologies. The entire campus has been wifi-enabled. Students can remain connected even in their hostels. Classroom presentations, discussions, debates, seminars, project works, poster presentations, problem solving, use of technology resources, peer-teaching, in addition to lecture mode, are the techniques and methodologies which are employed for teaching.
The Board of Studies (BoS), School Boards (SB) and Academic Council (AC) are the academic authorities which design and develop, approve and ratify the curricula respectively for all the programmes on offer in the University through its Departments of Studies. The BoS, SB and AC are all composed of University teachers and relevant external experts.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established in 1998 by an Act of Parliament. It is a dual mode University which has been offering its distance education programmes from the year of its inception and campus programmes from 2004. The Headquarters of MANUU is located in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana State.
