Department of Hindi established in 2007 with the aim of Promotion of Hindi in the South India. From its inception department started M.A, M.Phil and Ph.D courses. In 2012 Department introduced a new course PGDFHT for the purpose of promoting students in the field of Functional Hindi. Department also offering Hindi as a Core subject for the UG courses. In view of keeping the new trends in Literature Department introduced the Thrust areas like Dalit discourse, Feminist discourse, Adivasi discourse, Muslim discourse, Comparative Literature, Folk Literature, Cinema, Media and Dakhini. In addition to Core Courses, Department of Hindi offers Generic and Discipline Specific papers under CBCS to PG and UG course students. After observing the changing scenario in the global level employment, the department has taken care of employibility courses like Functional Hindi, Linguistics and Media in M.A Hindi Course. Department is organizing Special Lectures, National and International Conferences and Workshops, time to time. Department have its own Cultural Forum to Promote various Cultural and Literary activities like Screening Literary Movies, Literary Quiz, Poetry recitation and students Wall Magazine for their creative literary activities.
