Profile of ڈاکٹر ایم اے سکندر

Dr M. A. Sikandar is presently serving as Associate Professor of Management in the Department of Management & Commerce, School of Commerce & Business Management, MANUU. He has over 25 years industry experience in Government Sector in HR & OB, Industrial Relations, Legal, Publishing, University Governance.

He has varied managerial experience in various Government departments under the Government of India, National Book Trust, India, University of Delhi, Dr B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Management
Development Institute, Gurgaon, NIELIT (Ministry of IT, and held positions like Director, Registrar, Chief Administrative Officer, Joint/Deputy Registrar. He has also briefly taught BBS students in Deen Dayala Upadhyaya College (University of Delhi) as Guest Lecturer.

He delivered lectures on various issues related to University Governance and chaired sessions in several National level seminars and workshops across the country. He also served as Member in the project advisory committee of National
Translation Mission, Grant-in-Aid Committee of Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, Advisory Committee for Central Hindi Directorate (Ministry of HRD), Advisory Committee on Indian Literature Aborad, Sahitya Akademi,lead
Resource Person for Read Alliance Programme by Centre for Knowledge Society, sponsored by USAID, Indo- China Joint Working Group of Minister of External Affairs. He also served as Member in the Advisory Board of Asian Festival of
Children’s Content, Singapore representing India for four years till 2015. He was a Member of International Book Fair Directors in his capacity as Director, NBT India.

He served as the Chairman (Hony), Vidyalaya Management Committee of Kendriya Vidayalaya, Sector-5, Dwarka, New Delhi for five years (2012-2017). Dr Sikandar travelled to more than 15 countries including for promotion of Indian books abroad and represented India in International Book Fairs. He has been conferred with the Award for Excellence – Production of Books globally by the Afro Asian Book Council (2014). He is a well known figure in the field of University Governance and publishing world for his contribution towards promotion of books in the country. He wrote columns in the leading newspapers about University Governance. He has published more than 10 research papers in reputed national and international journals in the areas of management, HR, industrial relations, publishing, university governance. He is also an adjunct professor of management in Periyar Management College, Periyar Centre, New Delhi (affiliated to GGS IP University, New Delhi).
