Event Description

The Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development of School of Sciences of Maulana Azad National Urdu University has Celebrated International Day of Radiology (IDOR) 2024. On 8th November, 2024, at law School building. On this Day Dr. M. Abdul Mateen, Renowned Consultant Radiologist was invited as Chief Guest and he delivered a lecture on Radiological aspects like diagnostic radiology, radiation hazards and implicaiton of AI in radiology. He appreciated MANUU for offering different Allied Health related courses, further he advised to start UG Course in Ultrasonography which is highly recognised and valued in the industries.

In this inaugural function. Prof. S. Maqbool Ahmad, Nodal officer of Vocational programme welcomed the gathering, Prof. H. Aleem Basha, Dean School of Sciences briefed the session about the different courses being offered in School of Sciences at MANUU.

Prof. H. Aleem Basha also highlighted that since 2019, Prof. S. Maqbool Ahmad, Nodal officer has taken full responsibility in introducing new courses at MANUU by the support of authorities. Prof. Syed Najamul Hasan was invited as guest of honour, he address to the gathering and congratulated all the students for their active participation. After the chief guest concluded his lecture, Cake cutting ceremony was organised by UG and PG students MIT and finally Mr. Santosh Kumar presented vote of thanks. The entire session was anchored by Mr. Shakir Nisar Bhat, Coordinator of this event.

In the afternoon session, students actively participated in the poster presentation event. Approximately 100 students were present in the inagural session and 35 posters on various topics were presented by MANUU students. These posters were evaluated by a group of 09 Judges including Dr. Hammad Hashmi, Dr. Zeenat Fatima, Dr. Kulsoom Zahra, Mr. Md. Khaja Moinuddin, Mr. Santosh Kumar, Mr. Junaid Ul Islam, Ms. B. Nandhini, Dr. Reyaz and Mr. Shakir Nisar Bhat and awarded 1st , 2nd , 3rd and Five consolation prises among the winners of poster presentaion.

In the valedictory session the Dean School of Sciences Prof. H. Aleem Basha, Guest of Honour, Prof. Syed Najamul Hasan and Nodal officer Vocational Programme Prof. S. Maqbool Ahmad have distributed prizes and certificate to all the winners and participants. This session was moderated by Mr. Junaid Ul Islam, Guest Faculty MIT.
