Medical Camp for University staff and students

Event Description
The Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development School of Sciences students and Staff have organized one day health and Medical camp in CSE Building of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). This free camp was held on 17th oct. 2024 by an inaugural session.
In the inaugural session Dr. Mir Jawad Zar Khan Chairman and Medical Director of Germanten Hospitals was invited as chief guest.
Prof. Sayed Ainul Hassan Vice Chancellor of MANUU along with Registrar Prof. SK. Ishtiaque Ahmad and Dean SOS, Prof. Salman Ahmad Khan and the Nodal officer of Allied Health program Prof. S. Maqbool Ahmad were also present.
The inaugural session started with a welcome address by Prof. Maqbool Ahmad and he explained about the courses offered by MANUU in health sciences and also said in future few more courses are being planned which will be introduced in the coming academic year.
Then the Chief guest DR. Mir Jawad Zar Khan highlighted on the role of technologists in hospitals and diagnostic centres. He emphasized the significant role of medical technologists, which helps in bridging the gap between patients and the doctors. He congratulated the entire team for organizing such an important extension activity (Community activity) which is the need of hour.
In future also MANUU plans to have few more health-related activities in the campus. He assured support to MANUU from Germanten Hospital in all academic endeavours. The special guest Mr. Syed Najmi Asgar Abidi from Dubai was also present in the inaugural session and he adressed the session with his humorous poetry in Urdu.
The Presidential remarks were delivered by Honourable VC of MANUU. In his address he congratulated the students and Faculty of Allied Health Sciences for organizing this free camp. Further he said that in future MANUU is planning to have its own Medical College in the Campus. All the Technologists of Medical Lab, Medical Imaging and Emergency care will be absorbed in our own Medical College cum Hospital. Finally he expressed his desire to start PHD courses in Allied Health Sciences.
The whole session was hosted by Dr. Kulsoon Zahra and finally Mr. Wajihus Shams delivered vote of thanks by paying tribute to all the respected dignitaries who attended the session.
