Two Day National Seminar on Teaching English Language and Literature to Urdu Speakers

About the Seminar:

There is a need to enhance the opportunity for Urdu medium teachers to update their knowledge in subject and methodologies of teaching English. The seminar aims to provide a common platform for Urdu-medium teachers, teaching at different levels from primary schools to universities, to deliberate on issues involved in teaching of English language and literature.

Broad areas for submission:

• Teaching English to Urdu speakers at different levels from primary schools to universities.

• Strategies for teaching different skills, i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

• Integrating technology into teaching English language and literature.

• Using social networks to enhance teaching and learning.

• Coping with the Urdu culture in English classrooms.

• Teaching various genres: poetry, fiction, drama etc.
