National Conference on Emerging Trends in Diagnostic Radiology
Event Description
The Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development, School of Sciences at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized a one-day National Conference titled "Emerging Trends in Diagnostic Radiology" on February 26, 2025. The conference attracted over 150 participants from various universities and institutions across the country, showcasing its wide-reaching impact.
The event began with an inaugural session, which included a welcome address, the introduction of guests, and remarks from the chief patron, patron, chief guest, and conference chairman. The session set the stage for a day of intellectual discussions.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. K. Thayalan, Adjunct Faculty at IITM Chennai, who provided an insightful overview of recent advancements in medical imaging, with a focus on patient safety. The next session featured two distinguished speakers: Dr. Pawan G. Shinkar, Consultant Radiologist at Omega Hospitals, who discussed the revolutionary impact of PET MRI technology on diagnostics, particularly in oncology, neurology, and cardiology; and Dr. Md. Abdul Wassey, WHO Consultant, who emphasized the importance of early diagnosis in managing non-communicable diseases.
The conference continued with technical sessions conducted both online and offline, where researchers and students presented their work on diagnostic imaging. The entire conference was organized by MR. Shakir Nisar Bhat and MR. Sanstosh Kumar, the Convener and the Co-Convener of the conference. The sessions were moderated by Ms. Nandhini B (online) and Mr. Junaid Ul Islam (offline), facilitating engaging discussions. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Zubair Ul Islam, a report by the conference convener Mr. Shakir Nisar Bhat, and the awarding of prizes to the best abstract presenters. All participants received certificates, and the entire event was anchored by Mr. Junaid Ul Islam.
