16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” 25 November -10 December 2025
Event Description
Organised by Department of Women Education, Internal Complaints Committee & Centre for Women’s Studies, in collaboration with Cultural Activity Centre, MANUU, Hyderabad
The United Nations observes the 16 Days of Activism every year from 25th November to 10th December to strengthen global and local efforts toward eliminating gender-based violence. In the digital era, technology has created new opportunities as well as new threats.
Online harassment, cyber stalking, trolling, non-consensual sharing of images, hate speech, and digital surveillance disproportionately target women and girls, causing deep psychological, emotional, and social harm.
Recognising the urgency of addressing digital gender-based violence, MANUU is organising a series of programmes under the theme “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls” to create awareness, encourage dialogue, and promote digital safety and responsibility.
- Raise awareness about emerging forms of digital violence against women
- Promote safe, inclusive, and respectful online behaviour
- Highlight existing legal frameworks and cyber laws protecting women’s digital rights
- Facilitate dialogue through academic, creative, and cultural activities
