Event Description

“Hyderabad Dialogue” is an initiative started by the department in collaboration with Al-Beruni Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy (ACSSEIP). The idea is to have lectures of leading public intellectuals and interactions with them on key themes related with politics and other issues of social importance. Five lectures have been delivered so far in the series. The inaugural lecture in the series was delivered by Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz on “Inclusion and Exclusion as Personality Trait”. The other lecture in the series was delivered by Prof. Asmer Beg on “Third World Critique of Globalization”, Prof. Rizwan Qaiser on “Mainstreaming the Minorities in Historical and Contemporary Times”, Najmul Hoda (IPS) on “The Idea of Analytical Muslim” and Faridoon Shahryar on “Secular Themes in Indian Cinema”.
