Women Play a Vital Role in Preserving Folklore - Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan

 

"Women have always been the custodians of oral traditions, passing down stories, songs, and proverbs from generation to generation. They have kept alive the essence of folklore, embedding within it the values, wisdom, and emotions of communities", said Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in the inaugural session of one-day Research Scholar Seminar "Tradition of Folk Literature in Urdu" held today at CPDUMT Auditorium. The seminar was organized by the Centre for Urdu Culture Studies (CUCS), MANUU.

 Prof. Mohd. Naseemuddin Farees, Former Dean, School of Languages, Linguistics & Indology, MANUU was the Chief Guest and keynote speaker. Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, OSD and Prof. Aziz Bano, Dean of SLL&I also spoke on the occasion. Prof. M A. Sami Siddiqui, Director Incharge, CUCS, delivered the welcome note and Dr. Ahmad Khan, Associate Professor at CUCS, proposed the vote of thanks.

 The seminar concluded with a Folk Singing Programme by the Music Club of MANUU followed by a Valedictory Session chaired by Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf, Dean Students Welfare (DSW), MANUU.
