"3 W’s of Education – What, How & Why" 

Prof. Panchanan Mohanty delivers Teacher’s Day lecture at MANUU

"Education requires knowledge and knowledge requires a language to express and to pass out Education from one generation to another ". Prof. Panchanan Mohanty, University of Hyderabad said while delivering a lecture "3 W’s of Education – What, How & Why".

The School of Education and Training (SE&T), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized the lecture in connection with Teacher’s Day celebration. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU presided over.

According to Prof. Mohanty University is a place where debate, discussions, different point of views have to be expressed. Talking about mother tongue, Prof. Mohanty emphasized the importance of the mother tongue in fostering children's mental development and stressed the need to preserve and promote it alongside appropriate teaching methodologies. NEP 2020 says the first five years of teaching and learning should be in mother tongue.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan emphasized that knowledge without action holds no value, urging educators to commit to excellence in both teaching and practice. He highlighted the role of teachers in shaping future leaders and the importance of integrating values with education. Prof. Hasan called for a focus on the practical application of knowledge to address real-world challenges. He also stressed the need for continuous learning and innovation in education to stay relevant in a rapidly changing world. His address concluded with a strong message of dedication and action for the betterment of society through education.

On the occasion, Ms. Revathi Thangavelu was felicitated for her dedicated work as an eminent educationist.

Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar said students are the future of the country, society, education and they will become responsible teachers tomorrow. Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, OSD-I while addressing students said that we teachers are because of you and we are because of our teachers. Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, OSD II highlighted the role of teachers in promoting critical thinking, character formation, and personality development, helping students understand and solve problems rather than create them.

Prof. Vanaja M., Dean, SE&T delivered the welcome address, emphasizing that Teacher's Day serves as a reminder of the selfless contributions of teachers throughout their careers. She encouraged everyone to contribute towards achieving "Viksit Bharat" through education.

Prof. Shaheen A. Shaikh, Head, Department of Education and Training, introduced the guest speaker.

Prof. Viquar Unnisa proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Rabia Ismail, Assistant Professor hosted the event.
