The Centre for Women Studies, Maulana Azad National Urdu University organized a 16-day (25 November to 10 December 2024) Awareness Campaign for Elimination of Violence against Women in collaboration with the Internal Complaints Committee, MANUU. As part of the 16-day campaign, the Centre for Women Studies and Internal Complaints Committee held several meetings. The main event was a Panel Discussion organized on 9th December. Janab S.A. Huda, Retd IPS and former DG, AP spoke on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023. Prof. Tabrez Ahmed Dean, School of Law spoke on Women’s Rights under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 to Combat GBV, and Dr Farzana Khan, My Choices Foundation spoke on Sexual Harassment of Women & Redressal Mechanism with special reference to the Emergency Response.  Prof Shahida, Dean School of Arts and Social Sciences and Director, Centre for Women Studies briefed the audience on the 16-day campaign. Prof Gulfishaan Habeeb, Chairperson, ICC was the Moderator. The Panel Discussion was telecast live by IMC, MANUU and the recording is made available on the University YouTube Channel.

During the 16-day campaign to combat GBV, posters with the emergency response details were shared across all the MANUU campuses and Regional/Sub-Regional Centres. These posters are prominently placed on the Notice Boards. The e-Posters with emergency response numbers have been shared with the students through WhatsApp Groups. As part of the Awareness Drive, the University nominated Prof. Gulfishaan Habeeb, Chairperson, ICC as the nodal officer from MANUU for the newly launched SHe-Box portal, an initiative of the Government of India. ICC has shared the link to the SHe-Box portal with all the students, scholars, faculty and staff of the University.
