Tools & Techniques in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics Workshop held at MANUU

Hyderabad:

The Zoology Section of School of Sciences at Maulana Azad National Urdu University organized 4th National Hands-On Workshop on "Tools and Techniques in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics". Prof. Kota Arun Kumar, Department of Animal Biology, University of Hyderabad was the Chief Guest. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor presided over the inaugural session.

 Prof. Ainul Hasan, in his presidential remark underscored the importance of skill development and announced that the year 2025 will be the Year of the School of Sciences at MANUU. Prof. Arun Kumar acknowledged the workshop theme and conveyed the importance of the Western Blotting technique in the field of Proteomics.

 Prof. Arif Ahmad, Head, Zoology Section delivered the welcome address. Prof. P.F. Rahaman, Convenor workshop, highlighted the theme and objectives of the workshop. He informed that the primary aim of this workshop is to enhance skills through exposure and training in contemporary biological techniques for researchers and faculties from various colleges and institutions. Dr. Mohammad Kamran, the Co-Convener proposed vote of thanks in the inaugural session.

 Prof. H. Aleem Basha, Dean, School of Sciences addressed the valedictory session yesterday and also distributed certificates to the participants.

 20 participants from various academic and research Institutes participated in the workshop.

The participants received hands-on training from faculty members - Dr. Mohammad Kamran, Dr. Sufaya Jameel and Dr. Ali Raza, focusing on protein isolation, quantification, and identification using Western blotting techniques.
