NCPUL Training Workshop for Urdu Journalist  Inauguration today at MANUU

Hyderabad:

The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), in collaboration with the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), is organizing a three-day national workshop on "Urdu Journalism and Media Training".

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor will inaugurate the workshop on September 23. Mr. Amer Ali Khan, Managing Editor, Urdu Daily Siasat, Hyderabad, will join as the Guest of Honor, while the Chief Guest will be Dr. Sarfaraz Saifi, CEO & Editor-in-Chief, Bharat News Network, New Delhi.

The Esteemed Guests - Dr. Md. Shams Equbal,Director, NCPUL, MoE, Govt. of India, New Delhi, Mr. M.A. Majid, Senior Journalist, Hyderabad; Dr.Yamin Ansari, Resident Editor, Urdu Daily Inquilab, New Delhi; and Mr. Mohammed Abdul Sattar, Member, NCPUL, MoE, Govt. of India, New Delhi will grace the workshop.

According to Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, Dean and Head, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, the workshop will bring together eminent journalists and academicians from across the country who will train participants through interactive sessions, lectures, and practical demonstrations. The initiative is designed not only for media students but also for working Urdu journalists from various media organizations based in Hyderabad.

The workshop aims to equip the participants with contemporary skills and knowledge in the field of journalism. They will be exposed to discussions and training modules covering crucial aspects of modern journalism.

 

MANUU faculty recognized in world's top 2% scientists list

Hyderabad:

In a remarkable recognition, three faculty members of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), School of Sciences have been recognized in the globally prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists list (2025), published by Stanford University, USA. The data is verified and sourced from ELSEVIER and Stanford University. The list highlights researchers with exceptional impact, productivity, and influence across various scientific disciplines.

Prof. Salman A. Khan, Head, Chemistry Section, Prof. Muhammad Rafiq Abuturab, Head, Physics Section and Dr. Mohammad Faizan, Assistant Professor, Botany Section have been recognized for outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Prof. Salman Khan is recognized for contributions to the chemical sciences, particularly in the fields of thermochemistry and materials research. He has been consistently included in the World’s Top 2% Scientist list since 2020.

Prof. Muhammad Rafiq Abuturab, Head, Physics Section, has been featured on this list for six consecutive years (2020–2025). In 2025, his world ranking in Optoelectronics & Photonics and Optics is 371 and all India rank is 3 in the Single-Year Impact database, while his world ranking is 475 and all India rank is 3 in the Career-Long Impact Database.

Dr. Mohammad Faizan, Assistant Professor, Botany Section, has been recognized for his pioneering research in plant physiology, nanotechnology, and sustainable agriculture.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar congratulated these faculty members for their achievement and stated that this achievement highlights our research competencies globally.
