The School of Languages, Linguistics and Indology, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in collaboration with the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Department of English and the Cultural Activity Centre, is organizing a One-Day Online National Seminar “Jane Austen @ 250: Relevance, Readings and Reimaginings” on December 16, 2025.
The seminar commemorates 250 years of Jane Austen and explores her relevance through academic reflections and creative engagements.
According to Prof. Gulfishaan Habeeb, Dean,SLL&I, Mr. Gareth Wynn Owen, the British Deputy High Commissioner for Telangana & AP, will be the Chief Guest. Prof Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, MANUU will preside over and Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar will address the gathering.
Round Table Discussion, online research paper presentations, reading session on Jane Austen's novels, Retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice will also take place after inaugural. Other events include competitions for MANUU students in Quotable Quotes, Quiz, Poster Presentation and Essay Writing.
