MANUU's CDOE Workshop-cum-Orientation Programme begins

“Two-year MBA course launched by Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in distance learning mode is a unique and best program of its kind in the entire country for which University has received approval from this year”. These views were expressed today by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan. He was delivering the presidential address at the inaugural session of the two-day National Workshop-cum-Orientation Programme organized by MANUU's Center for Distance and Online Education for its Regional Directors, Assistant Regional Directors and Learner Support Centre Coordinators.

The Vice Chancellor also presented awards recognizing the best services of ten best performing coordinators of Learner Support Centers.

Continuing his address, Prof. Ainul Hasan said MANUU is equipping thousands of students across the country through Urdu medium of education in distance mode and the Learner Support Centers are also working hard. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor also announced doubling the prize money given to those centers that perform well at the national level. Although the students are provided with material in Urdu, the best skills are required to prepare this material and CDOE Director Prof. Razaullah Khan is preparing the best possible curriculum for the students by utilizing the services of the best teachers and experts, he remarked.

The chief guest of the programme, Prof. Ghanta Ramesh inaugurated the workshop. He said that distance education is playing a vital role in changing the educational landscape of the country today because it is easily accessible, affordable and effective. MANUU has a prominent position nationwide as it is the only Urdu University in the entire country that is providing education in both distance and regular mode. He advised all the teachers and staff to work towards providing all possible facilities to the student community, ensure that they are not behind the regular students in any way, and to introduce new courses under distance and online education.

In his welcome remarks, Prof. Razaullah Khan acknowledged the role of the coordinators of Learner Support Centers and appreciated their efforts.

Dr. Wasim Pathan, Associate Professor, conducted the proceedings and Prof. Nikhat Jahan presented the vote of thanks.
