MANUU Inter-Hostel (Boys & Girls) Sports, Cultural and Literary Competitions- 2026 were inaugurated today at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) campus with aim to promote physical fitness, cultural harmony, creativity, and literary excellence among students residing in various hostels of the university. These competitions will be held separately for boys and girls under Provost Boys and Girls Hostels.
The inaugural ceremony was conducted with a 400 metre running race which was flagged off by Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of MANUU in the presence of Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Dean, Students Welfare and other university officials.
Ayesha Naaz who secured first place in the 400 metres race whereas Iqra Khatoon stood on second place, and Falak Noor on third place. A total of 12 girl students participated and displayed commendable enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship.
While addressing, Prof. Ainul Hasan highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in the holistic development of students with special reference to the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). He encouraged the participants to uphold sportsmanship and unity throughout the competitions.
The other competitions, scheduled to continue over the coming weeks, will include a wide range of sporting events along with cultural and literary activities such as Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, debates, poetry, essay writing, mehandi designing and other creative contests.
Dr. Sameena Basu, Provost, Girls Hostels delivered the welcome address and Prof. Md. Shahid Raza, Provost, Boys Hostels delivered a vote of thanks.
