National Seminar inaugurated at MANUU

"Self-reliance is the key to self-respect and the vision of Viksit Bharat can only be achieved if we make ourselves self-reliant, argued Prof. Ramesh K. Arora, a doyen of public administration, today during the inaugural of Two-Day National Seminar “Social Policies and Public Administration in India: Vision 2047”. The seminar is being organised by the Department of Public Administration, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).
Smt. Kondru Pushpaleela, former Minister of Social Welfare of Andhra Pradesh was the Chief Guest and Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, MANUU presided over the inaugural.
Prof. Ramesh Arora started his keynote address with the ideas of India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on self-respect and self-reliance. He emphasized the need for formulating ‘administrative plan’ for every social policy because without a viable administrative plan social policies are destined to fail. India makes best policies in the world but fails to implement them properly as we don’t have administrative plans, says Prof. Arora.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan said "MANUU is working towards the Vision 2047 with special emphasis on the development of students from marginalised section of society who speak Urdu or have Urdu as their medium of instruction".
Smt. Kondru Pushpaleela called for proper coordination between politicians, bureaucrats, academicians, practitioners and theorists to make social policies successful.
Prof. P. H. Mohammad, Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences emphasised the need for taking public administration to the last person in the society. Prof. Syed Najiullah, Convenor of the seminar and Head of the Department, briefed about the seminar.
A special Issue of Bihar Journal of Public Administration and annual ‘Public Administration Newsletter-PAN’ was also released by the Vice-Chancellor on the occasion.
Dr. Ahmed Raza, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Jeevan Kumar C, Coordinator of the seminar and Associate Professor coordinated the session.
MANUU conducts FDP on Technology-Enabled and Blended Learning

"Play a proactive role in designing MOOCs and skill-based modules aligned with global market needs". Dr. B. Shadrach, Director, COL–CEMCA, urged faculty members while delivering special address today at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). He was delivering lecture on the theme “Empowering Higher Education Institutions in Technology-Enabled and Blended Learning”. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU presided over the inaugural.
The UGC–Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), MANUU, and the School of Education & Training, MANUU, in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning – Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (COL–CEMCA) is jointly organizing a five-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Technology-Enabled and Blended Learning.
Dr. Shadrach emphasized the transformative potential of NEP 2020 and commended MANUU for effectively implementing its recommendations, including the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and multidisciplinary education. He stressed the importance of flexible curricula, 21st-century skills, research culture, interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the integration of emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, in higher education.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, elaborated on the university’s commitment to implementing NEP 2020 in both letter and spirit. He outlined MANUU’s adoption of a multidisciplinary approach, strengthening of digitally equipped classrooms, and focused efforts to enhance faculty digital competencies. He also underlined the university’s mission of social inclusion by providing skill- and competency-based education to underprivileged sections of society at highly subsidized costs.
Delivering the welcome address, Prof. M. Vanaja, Dean, School of Education & Training and Programme Director, spoke on the concept of Education 6.0 and its growing relevance in higher education. She highlighted how rapid technological advancements, including AI and machine learning, are reshaping teaching–learning processes and driving institutions towards tech-enabled and blended learning models.
Prof. Saneem Fatima, Director, UGC–MMTTC and Programme Director, said that the programme offers both theoretical insights and hands-on experiences in emerging educational technologies.
