“Urdu is a valuable asset and a sweet decent language which rules the heart. It is a cultural and historic language. To promote the language we have to bring new generation close to Urdu and publish science books in Urdu language. Prof. Abdul Haq, Former Head, Dept of Chemistry, Osmania College, Kurnool expressed these views while delivering online address as the guest of honour during the valedictory of 5th National Urdu Science Congress 2021 at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) yesterday. Prof. Siddiqui Mohammad Mahmood, Registrar I/c presided over.

The School of School of Sciences of MANUU organized the Congress on the topic " Impact of technology and Multi disciplinary Scientific approach ".
Prof. Haq recalled an article, published in a weekly about a Urdu Madrasa student who completed his higher education through prestigious institutions like JMI, Tata Institute Bangalore and also got admission in Post Doctorate Research in California. Giving this example he said Urdu is not a barrier for higher education and one should take inspiration with such students.
Narrating few incidents of eminent scientist Newton and a Noble laureate of Chemistry, Prof. S R Ramdas, Prof. Abdul Haq said Teachers and Scientists keep on learning new things and often prefer simplicity.
Prof. Siddiqui Mohammad Mahmood while congratulating the organizers of the congress suggested to bring out an online journal containing research papers of faculty and research scholars. Talking about human progress he said, scientific knowledge plays an important role which includes research, observation and innovation. While speaking about Multi and Inter disciplinary approaches, Prof. Siddiqui said Technology has made it much easier to adopt these approaches. Students and research scholars will use technology to ensure interdisciplinary research and perform significant work that will have extraordinary effects, he hoped.
Prof. Syed Najamul Hasan, Department of Mathematics and Convener of the Congress presented a detailed report of congress and announced that Mahmooda Begum (Health Sciences), Talat Parveen (Physics), Aamera Saba (Environmental), Maliha Tasdeeq (Agriculture), Samreen Kausar (Chemistry), Md. Asif Pedar (Mathematics) are the winners of presentations whereas Rabia Tahseen (Health Sciences), Maliha Taqdees (Agriculture), Fazle Rasool (Environmental), got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for full length papers. Prof. Parveen Jahan, Dean, SoS also spoke on the occasion. Research scholars, students gave their feedback about the congress.
Earlier, total six technical sessions were held during 2 Day Congress. Prof. A K Chaudhry, UoH, Ms. Quratul Ain Hasan, Krishan Institute of Medical Sciences, Prof. Masood Husain, Prof. Arif Pathan, Prof. M Vanaja, Director, Directorate of Admission, Prof. Zafar Ahsan, AMU were the chairpersons whereas MANUU faculty members - Dr. H Aleem Basha, Dr. Masroor Fatima, Dr. S. Maqbool Ahmad, Dr. Syed Salahuddin, Dr. Khwaja Moinuddin and Dr. Afroz were the Vice-Chairpersons of these technical sessions.
A special lecture on Full Bright Scholarship by Dr. Monika Setia, Consulate of USA was also organized on first day of the congress. A special session was also held yesterday in which Prof. Qudsia, AMU was the speaker and Prof. Parveen Jahan, Dean, SoS was the chairperson. Around 45 participants presented their papers.
Online lecture series on Modern Hindi literature at MANUU

The Department of Hindi, Maulana Azad National Urdu University is organizing a seven-day online lecture series “Aadhunik hindi Sahitya ki nayi dishayen” on 19th, 23rd and 26th to 30th July 2021, from 2 :30 pm to 4:30 pm.
According to Dr. Karan Singh Utwal, Head, Department of Hindi, Prof. S.M. Rahmatullah, Vice Chancellor I/c, MANUU will be the chief guest and Dr. Bhim Singh, University of Hyderabad will deliver lecture “Bharatiya Adivasi Sahitya” in the inaugural. An eminent professor from Bhopal, Vijay Bahadur Singh will enlighten on “Shodh ki Nayi Dishayen” whereas Prof. Manisha Kulsreshth, a famous writer from Jaipur will throw light on the Role of Women in “Hindi Katha sahitya ke Kendra mein Stree”. Prof. Meraj Ahmed, AMU will speak on “Muslim Upanyaskar : Muslim Samaj” and Dr Ajay Navariya, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi on “Hindi Dalit Kahani ke Sarokar”. Dr. Vivek Dube will deliver lecture “Sahitya ka Filamantaran” and Famous critic Prof. Pratap Sehgal on “Katha Sahitya ka Natyarupantaran”. Experts, distinguished professors and research scholars from various universities will participate.
The lecture is being organized under the supervision of Prof. Mohd. Naseemuddin Farees, Dean, School of Languages. Dr. Karan Singh Utwal is the convenor of the lectures and organizing committee members include Dr. G.V.Ratnakar, Dr. D. Seshu Babu, Dr. Pathan Rahim Khan and Dr. Abu Horairah.
