MANUU to celebrate 25th Foundation Day

Hyderabad:

 Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is celebrating it’s 25thFoundation Day on January 09, 2022.

Prof. Sukhadeo Thorat, Emeritus Professor, Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi & Former Chairman, University Grants Commission  will be the chief guest and will deliver online address. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor will preside over the function. Prof. S M Rahmatullah, Pro Vice-Chancellor will also address and Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Registrar I/c will propose vote of thanks. Prof. Saneem Fatima, Dean, Academics will speak about MANUU.

International Urdu Social Sciences Congress at MANUU

Abstract submission date extended

School of Arts and Social Sciences (SA&SS) of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is organizing the International Urdu Social Science Congress 2022 online on February 02 and 03, 2022.  The theme of the congress is Social Sciences in South Asia.

According to Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Convenor and Dean, SA&SS the last date for submission of abstract has been extended from January 5 to January 20.

The sub-themes are - Feminism in South Asia: Negotiating new terrains, Public Administration in South Asia, Post Covid Scenario and Social Work : Challenges and Prospects, Pandemic & Politics in South Asia, Islamic Studies in South Asia: Trends & Possibilities, New developments in Historical research in South Asia, Migration & Cultural Exchange in South Asia, Economic Development in South Asia : Covid 19 Perspective, A Study of Culture and Civilization of Deccan in South Asia: Need and Importance, Issues of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policies in South Asia.

According to Dr. Kaneez Zehra, Co-Convenor, papers shall be written in Urdu (inpage/unicode) only. Interested participants can submit the abstract to the email nusscmanuu@gmail.com till January 20 and they would be informed about the acceptance of their abstracts by January 22. The last date for submission of the complete paper is January 25. The online registration form is available at website manuu.edu.in. Online link of the congress will be provided to the registered participants only.

Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas Observed at MANUU

The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) observed Cyber Jaagrookta (Awareness) Diwas on the January 5, 2022 and organized a webinar “The three-pillar approach to cyber security-Data and information protection” under the scheme 'Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre(14C)'. The Ministry of Home Affairs is promoting this scheme to raise awareness about cyber-crime prevention among students. Higher Education Institutions are encouraged to observe Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas on the first Wednesday of each month by hosting webinars, workshops, Interactive Sessions, Poster Making, and other activities.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hassan, Vice-Chancellor in his presidential address pointed out cyber-crime as a serious issue and said that there are number of ways to track down cyber criminals. Experts are working nonstop to find a solution and many challenges will arise in a rapidly rising civilization. Science is essential for long-term growth, he added.

The Guest Speaker, Ms. Sanjana Bhanu, Information Security Analyst, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, New Delhi in her lecture advised to change passwords frequently in order to be protected from cyber crimes, avoid using public wi-fi for transactions, use VPNs for those who work from home, keep the firmware up-to-date, don’t share OTP and not to give remote access to others. 

Prof. S.M. Rahmatullah, Pro-Vice Chancellor while addressing emphasized on organizing such events on regular basis. Dr. Syed Imtiyaz Hassan, Head, Department spoke about the significance of the cyber jaagrookta diwas and the need of awareness about cyber hygene. Prof. Pradeep Kumar while congratulating the coordinators advised students to follow the safety measures.

Department’s Assistant Professors - Ms. Khaleda Afroaz proposed vote of thanks and Ms. Tunga Arundhathi hosted the programme. Both the teachers along with Mr. Mohammad Islam, Mr. Mohd. Rafeeq and Mr. Mohammed Rashid organized the program.
