MANUU drama club hosts open mic event "Ignited Minds"

The Drama club of Maulana Azad National Urdu University hosted a first ever thrilling open mic event "Ignited Minds"Thursday evening on campus. Students actively presented a wide range of talents, including poetry, music, mono acting, storytelling, mime, and mimicry, among others.
According to Mr. Meraj Ahmad, Cultural Coordinator, the event has been initiated to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of MANUU and will be held every month throughout the year to motivate the students to showcase their talents.
Ms. Shazia Perween, M.Edpresented the plight of women and Ms. Tajalli Hera of MBA presented ambitions of a girlin the form of poetry whereas BA students - Mr. Noor Alam Khan, Mr. Shahbaz, Mr. Abrar Ahmad and Mr. Wajid presented different aspects of life, social issues and romanticism. Mr. Zakaria Sarfaraz, MBA played the ukulele; Mr. Quadir, BTech presented Mono Acting on Muzaffarnagar violence. Mr. Mazharuddin, BA JMC presented a mime on ‘Balloon Man’. Mr. Zamir Hasan and Mr. Raghib of BVoc came up with a mimicry performance. Mr. Nazakat Ali, Ph.D. Scholar from MCJ Department anchored the event.
Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, HoD, MCJ, Prof. Afroz Alam, HoD, Political Science, Prof. Shahid Raza, HoD, Social Work, Dr. Firoz Alam, Dept of Urdu and Mr. P. Habeebullah, Assistant Registrar were present.
Teachers praised the initiative and hoped that such activities will lead to the discovery of the hidden gems at the university.
