Extension Lecture on Science of Teaching & Learning held at MANUU
To make teaching-learning effective, all the senses of the learners should be involved in the learning process. Importance should be given to learner’s Mother Tongue. Dr. Qazi Siraj Azhar, Associate Clinical Professor, Michigan State University, USA said during an extension lecture “Science of Teaching & Science of Learning” yesterday at Agha Hashar Kashmiri Auditorium at Directorate of Distance Education, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU formally inaugurated the programme. The lecture was organized by School of Education & Training, MANUU.
While speaking about Neuroscience of Learning and Teaching, Dr. Qazi Siraj advised Trainee Teachers to understand the child’s brain while teaching. He also explained how the child’s brain works when he learns something.He emphasized Experiential learning, Project-based learning and pointed towards developing Intrinsic motivation among the students.
Prof. Ainul Hasan in his inaugural speech highlighted the significance of science in the world and stated that “Science is Everywhere”.
Prof. SM Rahmatullah, Pro-Vice-Chancellor in his address encouraged students to adopt a scientific perspective in the field of Education. Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Dean, School of Education and Training, introduced and welcomed the Key-note speaker.
Prof. SK Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar and Prof. Mohd. Moshahid, Head, Department of Education and Training, MANUU also shared the dais.
The department Assistant Professors - Dr. Farhath Ali convened the lecture and Mr. Jahangir Alam proposed vote of thanks.
