Jashn-e-Baharan ends on a high note with cultural night at MANUU

Hyderabad: 

Maulana Azad National Urdu University Students Union (MSU) organized the annual cultural, literary and sports extravaganza “Jashn-e-Baharan 2022”on a grand level. Cultural night held yesterday at the open air auditorium was the clear proof of the successful culmination of flurry of events. Large number of students braving the intermittent rain turned out to appreciate their colleague’s performances. The artists did not disappoint them either. The evening was marked with scintillating music, singing, dance, hilarious skits and sombre monacts.

MANUU organized Jashn-e-Baharan after a gap of 3 years and the participation of the students fraternity was overwhelming. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor not only provided patronage to the entire event but also actively participated in different programmes to encourage the students. Prof. Hasan who inaugurated the gala event on June 24, participated in Mushaira held on June 27. The Vice-Chancellor also visited the “Food fest” organized on June 28 and appreciated the culinary skills of the students. Prof. SM Rahmatullah, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. SK. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar and Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf Jaisi, Dean Students’ Welfareaccompanied him.

Prof. Mohd Abdul Sami Siddiqui, chairman, MSU Advisory Committee and Dr. Mohd Yousuf Khan, Convenor Committee worked tirelessly along with various coordinators to ensure successful conduct of the event.

Mr. Mohd Mursaleen, President, MSU, Md Abuhamza, Vice-President, Mohd Haris, Secretary and other office bearers of the Union also coordinated well with the organizing committee.

Jashn-e-Baharan this year included bait bazi, debate, elocution, essay writing, youth parliament, food fest, cultural night, poster making, painting, mushaira, qirat and job fest.

Various bollywood songs, Qawwali, Sufi song and duet were presented by students - they included Taskeen Fatima, Nasir Ali, Gauhar Alam, Jawwad Alam, Aarfeen, Mohd. Sufiyan Ameerullah, Quainan Ali, Mohd Suhail. Kerala Singing group presented Tribal song whereas Yaseen TP presented Malyalam song. The event also witnessed Kerala group Dance, Odiya folk dance. Faizan, Rehbar n group presented standup comedy. Story telling by Bushra, Mono act on Farmers by Mohd Shahnawaz and Kerala musical act was also part of the event. Dr. Mohd. Muzaffar Hussain Khan and Prof. Karan Singh Utwal were the coordinators.

Earlier, Elocution Competition on the topic "The Relevance of Maulana Azad’s Idea of India in the Current Scenario" was also organised in three languages and 45 students delivered inspirational speeches. The winner of Urdu Speech was Mohd Ashhad. Md Shahnawaz Alam declared winner for Hindi whereas winner of English Speech was Sarmad Yaseen Butt.

Dr. Abu Shaheem Khan, Dr. Sameena Tabish, and Dr. Talha Farhan were the judges. Dr. Shakeel Ahmad was the coordinator.

Painting Competition with theme ‘Gain from Rain’was held on June 27 in which a total of 32 students participated. Shaista Khatoon secured first position. Dr. Umme Sallmaa and Mr. Md. Abdul Qadeer were the judges. Ms. Ismat Fathima was the coordinator.

Youth Parliament, with the aim to bring out debating, logical thinking and reasoning, and creative skills of the students and to test their awareness of parliamentary behavior and Proceedings, was also conducted on June 28. The agenda of the Parliamentary discussion was the National Education Policy.

Mr. Mazahar Subhani, who acted as the speaker of the youth parliament handled the parliament sessions very well. Ruling party head Md Faizan extensively described the advantages of the policy. The session was judged by Dr. Meraj Ahmed Mubaraki, Dr. Md. Athar Hussain and Dr. Reshma Nikhat. Mr. Mohd Omar was the coordinator.

In the food festival a total of 18 stalls were put up and students showcased their regional food culture with ethnic cuisine from Hyderabad, Jammu, Kerala, Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. Home-made, hygienic and reasonably priced food was served at the fest, with many preparations being done on the spot. The entire fest received immense response from all the stakeholders of the university. Mr. Jameel Ahamed was the coordinator.

Job fest, an important part of Jash-e-Baharan will be held on July 5, 2022.
