Family, Faith And Freedom Are Vital To Any Society: Pastor Torp

Hyderabad:

‘Faith, family and freedom are the basic building blocks of societies. Societies that value the family, faith and freedom survive, those that do not eventually disintegrate over time’, Norwegian Pastor Jan-Aage Torp, a devotional speaker, who is on a visit to India said today while delivering lecture ‘Culture & Peace in India’ at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized by UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (UGC-HRDC).

Jan-Aage Torp also interacted with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan and the Registrar Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed and other faculty members.

He spoke about the vast cultural diversity of India and appreciated the freedom available to Indians. Speaking to a packed conference hall, Pastor Torp said that, ‘I have taken part in anti-abortion campaigns in Norway which is completely non-violent. ‘Gandhi’s philosophy will never go out of fashion, he remarked. Speaking on religious conversion he pointed out that conversions through material benefits and coercion cannot be the basis of religious conversions.

Professor Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, OSD II & Dean, School of Education & Training also spoke on the occasion. 

Prof. Saneem Fatima, Director, UGC-HRDC introduced the guest speaker. She pointed out that it was India which gave the world the spiritual concepts of Maya and Moksha.

International Science Conference at MANUU

February 15 last date for Abstract submission

The School of Sciences (SoS), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is organizing two days International Conference on “Sustainable Development through Science and Technology" on February 27-28, 2023. The deadline for abstract submission is February 15, 2023.

According to Prof. Salman A. Khan, conference Chairperson & Dean, SoS, eminent speakers from across the country are invited for keynote address & to chair sessions. A special lecture on “Future of STI - Impacts on education, skills & work” will also be organized on February 28 on the occasion of National Science Day and a special session exclusively on ‘Millets - future food of India’ is being organized on February 27.

Participants are advised to pay registration fee of Rs. 500/- (for research scholars) and Rs. 1000/- (for faculty members/sponsored members) at the time of abstract submission. The abstracts (approximately 300 word in Time Roman font 12) shall be send at email iscsos2023@gmail.com. For papers on the sub-theme “Millets-Future food of India” refer instruction in the link http://biology-journal.org.

PhD in Education awarded to Tabrez Alam

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has declared Mr. Md. Tabrez Alam, S/o Mr. Md. Abu Bakar qualified in Doctor of Philosophy in Education. He has worked on the topic “Professional Competencies, Commitment and Ethics of Secondary School Teachers in Bihar: A Study” under the supervision of Dr. Mohd. Muzaffar Hussain Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Education & Training, MANUU. The Viva-Voce was conducted on 25-10-2022.
