MANUU introduces PhD Urdu Culture Studies
Hyderabad:
The Centre for Urdu Culture Studies of Maulana Azad National Urdu University is offering Ph.D. in Urdu Culture Studies at Hyderabad Campus through entrance test.
According to Dr. Ahmad Khan, Director, Incharge the areas of specialization for admission include Urdu Culture, Linguistic Culture, Cultural terminology, proverbs and idioms, Cultural depiction in Urdu Literature, Composite Culture, Multiculturalism, Ethnicity, Diversity, Pluralism, Materialistic Culture, Indian Culture, Regional Culture, Indo-Islamic Culture, Folk Culture, Urban Culture, Tribal Culture, Folk Art, Folk Literature etc.
The last date for submission of online application is May 28, 2023. for more details and prospectus logon to University website www.manuu.edu.in.
Debate and Singing Competition held at MANUU
Hyderabad:
As part of UGC’s G20 University Connect Programme, Debate and Singing Competition was held yesterday at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). A week long Annual Inter Hostel Sports and Cultural activities being organized jointly by Provost Boys Hostel, Provost Girls Hostel and Directorate of Physical Education & Sports was inaugurated by Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan on May 15, 2023.
Shoiabur Rahman, Md. Sohrab Alam and Md. Yusuf secured first position for debate in Urdu, Hindi and English respectively. Mohammad Arfeen was declared winner for the singing competition.
Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed I. Patel, Provost Boys Hostel supervised the competitions. Dr. Qaisar Ahmad, Dr. Farhat Ali, Dr. Md. Rashid Farooqi were judges for debate in Urdu whereas Dr. Patan Rahim Khan, Dr. Adnan Bismillah, Dr. Wajida Ishrat for debate in Hindi and Dr. P. Sarath Chandra, Dr. Shah Alam, Dr. Sameena Tabassum were the judges for English debate. Prof. Karan Singh Utwal, Dr. Md. Muzaffar Hussain and Mr. Mujahid Ali were the judges for singing competition.
Dr. Javed Nadeem, Co-ordinated the programme. Dr. M. H. Khan and Dr. Imtiyaz were also present.
MANUU organizes essay writing competition on G20
Hyderabad:
Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s Literary Club organized an essay writing competition in connection with UGC’s G20 University Connect Programme. The theme was “India’s Leadership of G-20 and Challenges of Climate Change”.
According to Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf, Dean, Student Welfare, Abdul Azeem (Research Scholar, Urdu) secured first position in Urdu essay writing whereas Mohd. Abdullah (MA Islamic Studies) and Mazhar Subhani (MSW) secured second and third positions. In Hindi, Bushra Fatima (B.Ed) got the first position, Talha Mannan (B.Ed) second and Ziaullah Ansari (B.Ed) was on third position. Shahana Sheerin (MA English), Fahad Khaleeq (MA English) and Mohd. Yusuf (MBA) were awarded with first, second and third prizes respectively for English essay.
Prof. Shamshul Hoda, Head of Urdu Department, Prof. K. Nagendra and Dr. Adnan Bismillah were the judges for Urdu, English and Hindi respectively.
Dr. Firoz Alam, President, University Literary Club is the coordinator of the competition.
Prof. Mohd Abdul Sami Siddiqui, Joint Dean Student Welfare, Mr. Meraj Ahmad, Cultural Coordinator and Mr. Habib Ahmad, Museum Curator took part in arrangements. The Secretary (ULC), Abdul Muqit and Joint Secretaries Talha Manan & Mazhar Sobhani also supported.
