Conference on Implementation of NEP held at MANUU

Hyderabad:

The Department of Education and Training (E&T), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized a One-Day State Conference on Implementation of NEP 2020 in School Education & Principals Meet – (An Interaction with Urdu Medium School Principals) in the context of Viksit Bharat, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and the implementation of NEP 2020 on January 24, 2024.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Suresh Babu Suguru from SCERT, Hyderabad commended MANUU for inviting headmasters and principals from Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts. He expressed his commitment to continued interaction and collaboration in the future

The Guest of Honor, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmad, Registrar, MANUU underscored the earnest commitment of the School of Education and Training towards implementing the recommendations of NEP 2020 and highlighted that the pivotal role of principals is indispensable in the successful implementation of NEP 2020 recommendations.

Prof. Vanaja. M, Dean, School of Education & Training highlighted the importance of quality teachers for a developed India and emphasized that the conference was organized in this direction. Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Professor, Department of E&T in his presidential remarks emphasized the need to equip student teachers for the multidisciplinary and flexible provisions of NEP, preparing them to become global educators. Prof. Shaheen Altaf Shaikh, Head, Department of Education and Training outlined the objectives of the conference.

Prof. Suresh Babu Suguru, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Prof. Vanaja, Prof. Shaheen Altaf Shaikh, Dr. Najma Begum, Dr. Naushad Husain and Dr. Rafi Mohmad delivered lectures on various topics during plenary sessions.

Prof. Akthar Parveen proposed vote of thanks. Prof. Vanaja coordinated the interactive session where experiences were shared, and suggestions were gathered to enhance the internship experience for student-teachers. Prof. Mohd. Moshahid concluded the Plenary session. Certificates were distributed to all participants.

 

Need to study the glorious past of the Deccan - Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan Telangana History Congress Conference held at MANUU

Hyderabad:

'There is a need to study the glorious past of the Deccan. Many of its sources and references are in Persian. Language & Literature and History are both inter-related'. These views were expressed by Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor while delivering the presidential remarks yesterday in the inaugural session of the two-day VII Annual Conference of the Telangana History Congress (THC) being organized by the Department of History, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Prof. Ainul Hasan also released the proceedings of THC and two books on this occasion.

In her keynote address, Prof. Radhika Seshan, General President, THC discussed in detail the history of the Deccan and also highlighted on the geography of the Deccan from various historical contexts. Discussing the history of different periods, she also reviewed the research work done in the modern era and campaigned for research on various important aspects of the history of Deccan.

Prof. Prof. S. M. Azizuddin Husain, Honorary Professor, Centre for Urdu Culture Studies, MANUU and the Guest of Honour discussed the importance of history education. While discussing historiography, he said that the historians of Aligarh school have played an important role in the historiography of the medieval period. The Telangana History Congress should pass a resolution to prepare a comprehensive history of the Deccan, He suggested.

The Guest of Honour, Prof. K. Arjun Rao, President, THC and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Osmania University said that THC was established to further improve the quality of research in this area and nurture the research spirit of young scholars.

Mr. M. Veerender, General Secretary, THC enlightened about aims and objectives of the Congress. He also informed that Urdu articles will also be included in the proceedings of the Telangana History Congress from this year onwards.

Prof. Danish Moin, Department of History, delivered a welcome address and briefed about the History Congress.

Dr. Ikramul Haque, Assistant Professor convened the programme and also proposed vote of thanks.

A large number of teachers, scholars and researchers from various educational and research institutions are participating in the conference.
